Mandy Rose, Press & PR Officer – the last week of IDFB

It’s the last week of International Dance Festival Birmingham and there’s a packed programme of dance to see and do as we head towards the finale on Saturday.   

Birmingham born Colin Dunne returns to home turf with his solo homage to Irish step dance Out of Time, (11/12 May in the Hip’s Patrick Centre).     Colin is a leading figure in the world of Irish Dance and spent 3 years touring with the acclaimed Riverdance.

The following two nights see  The Patrick Centre studio play host to diverse works including Thresh Dance Company with The Absent Lover (13 May) and Abhimanu & Vidhu Lal who perform Kathak Duet (14 May) both presented in partnership with sampad South Asian Arts.  

And on the main stage Brazilian firecracker Deborah Colker  returns with her company Companhia de Danca Deborah Colker  to perform their new work Cruel (13/14 May).

You could however choose to nip across the city to Ikon Eastside (13/14 May) where Xavier le Roy draws on diverse influences from the worlds of science, performance art and contemporary dance with Self Unfinished .  
Put Your foot Down is the grand finale event (15 May)  in St Martin’s Square Bullring where a brand new dance routine, created by French Hip Hop star Salah,  will be performed simultaneously by hundreds of people.
