A spectacular new season of productions is heading to the theatre in 2011.
The new season features the Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q (not a children’s show) which stops off at Birmingham Hippodrome as part of its first national tour; and sexy ballet superstar Carlos Acosta returns with his own company. There’s a new dance musical Top Hat, based on the legendary RKO film (Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers), starring Strictly/Holby City star Tom Chambers takes to the stage for the very first time.
Following a sell-out season at Chichester and a successful West End run, Yes, Prime Minister arrives in Birmingham for a week of wit and political satire; and we welcome Guangdong Acrobatic Troupe of China to the city for the very first time, bringing performances that have wowed audiences all over the world (take a look at the picture below!).
We also welcome the side-splittingly funny hit show Busting Out! for one night only (features topless nudity) and are delighted to announce extra performances of both Chess (Mon 7 Feb) and of John Cleese’s Alimony Tour (Mon 9 May).
And tickets will go on-sale this month for the 2011/2012 spectacular family pantomime CINDERELLA. The production will open on Saturday 17 December and will run until Sunday 29 January 2012.
