Behind the Scenes: Wicked in rehearsal…

Citizens of Oz, do we have something thrillifying for you today!?

The cast and crew of the first UK & Ireland tour of the hit Broadway and West End musical Wicked are now well into rehearsals ahead of the opening night at Manchester’s Palace Theatre on 12 September.

Dance routines have been practiced, lines have been learnt and songs rehearsed as the cast get into the final stages of getting this first class production on the road ahead of flying into Birmingham next Summer.

One of the highlights of Wicked is the stunning and detailed costumes. Fittings and re-fittings have been taking place as members of the wardrobe department work tirelessly on making them as spectacular as possible – did you know that Glinda’s ‘bubble dress’ features over 100,000 hand-sewn sequins alone!?

Final preparations are almost complete and the cast had a photo call in costume for the ever first time just the other day – click here to watch the video.

Take a look below for a full picture gallery of the cast in rehearsal and being fitted for their costumes…

Wicked has now been seen by over 36 million people world-wide and you can catch it in Birmingham next Summer, 9 July – 6 September 2013 – click here for more info and tickets.
