This morning I welcomed the fantastic team from Guide Dogs UK who are touring the country as part of the ‘Four Legs Tour’ – a nation wide discovery of venues and events across the country catering for people with guide dogs as part of Guide Dogs Week 2013.

The team included Selina Williams and her beautiful guide dog Marley. Selina lives in Gloucestershire and had never visited Birmingham Hippodrome before, she commented, “I didn’t realise how easy it was to get to the theatre from the station, in terms of accessibility it’s absolutely fine…the Hippodrome is definitely somewhere I will visit again.”

Head of Customer Services, Jonathan Thompson gave the group a tour of the theatre and pointed out the measures in place to make patron’s with guide dogs visits as enjoyable and relaxed as possible.

Jonathan completed the London Marathon this year in aid of Guide Dogs UK, raising a brilliant £3,100 for the charity!

To conclude their visit, Selina and Marley met our Green Room Manager, Jason Lane and his guide dog Yozi. After much excitement, Marley and Yozi posed for their picture outside the theatre before the team from Guide Dogs UK set off for their next location.

Thanks once again to the team for popping by, it was great to meet you all!
