Give dance a try for a tenner…

Press & PR Assistant, Ben Wooldridge (@benwooldridge) writes…

International Dance Festival Birmingham is now a fixed event in our diaries every two years, one that sees our main stage play host to some of the world’s finest performers and companies; but the great thing is, it’s not for high-brow dance lovers.

Sideways Rain

Yes, some of us may be guilty of taking a look at contemporary dance and thinking it’s not for us, but what we want to do is to bring dance to everyone – how can you know until you try it?  For that reason you lucky blog readers can try Sideways Rain by Swiss company Alias or Tempest Replica by Canada’s Kidd Pivot for just a tenner.

Sideways Rain is an incredibly hypnotic piece that sees 14 dancers cross from one side of the stage to the other in ways you have probably never seen before, completely entrancing stuff! Kidd Pivot’s Tempest Replica is a retelling of Shakespeare’s The Tempest using excellent (and sometimes pretty freaky!) masks, costume design, projection and visual effects – take a look at the video footage below to see what I mean…

So go on, treat yourself to a ticket to some world-class dance for just a tenner – click here for more  info and to book for Sideways Rain and here for Tempest Replica.
