Over 1,000 people streamed through our doors last Sunday to celebrate Chinese New Year. The free family activities included, magic, food demos, arts and crafts and a Chinese Lion. The event was part of the bigger celebration held in and around the Arcadian centre in Southside and despite the rain people came out to bring in the Year of the Snake.
Our foyer area was transformed into a magical Chinese Tea Salon hosted by artist Rosa Parkin and 6 local Chinese women who had been working together to explore themes of identify and anient chinese magic.
We also presented craft making workshops and food demonostrations with the chance to use chopsticks.
The activities were supported by Southside BID and European Regional Development Fund. See our photostream opposite.
