A Brand-New Season…

It’s that time again, we are thrilled to launch a shiny New Season here at Birmingham Hippodrome.

What a year 2013 has been, with huge productions such as Phantom, Lion King and War Horse we have been treated to a spectacular year of theatre – and 2014 looks to be no different…

2014 will see the return of one of the UK’s biggest dance events International Dance Festival Birmingham featuring the biggest names and titles in dance such as Sylvie Guillem, Breakin’ Convention, Sidi Larbi and Canadian company Kidd Pivott.

In November, another major highlight of the year will be the Mariinsky Theatre production of The Ring Cycle by Richard Wagner conducted by world famous Maestro Valery Gergiev – the only UK date in 2014.

12,000 litres of water are set to flood our stage every night during Singin’ in the Rain and the huge West End hit Wicked will fly into Birmingham over Summer. Matthew Bourne’s award-winning Swan Lake will make a very welcome return as well as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS plus the National Theatre’s hilarious One Man, Two Guvnors.

Another big part of the Stagecast is, of course, the competition! Last Friday we were very pleased to welcome our latest winner Claire Price and her husband as she enjoyed a VIP night at War Horse.

Claire’s prize package included an overnight stay at Staycity Apartments in the Arcadian, a spa treatment at Theclubandspa in The Cube, a meal for two in our Stageside Bar & Restaurant, access to the VIP press reception and two top price tickets to War Horse.

Speaking about her experience Claire said, “My husband and myself had a wonderful time on Friday evening.
Our meal at Stageside was delicious, and the staff very attentive without disturbing us, we will definitely go there again. Your hospitality and company was both generous and friendly, and my son appreciated the sweets and background information and has taken it into school today to share with his teacher as they are currently studying World War 1 (although not the sweets, they didn’t last that long!). And finally but not at all least was the production, it was incredibility moving and so well put together, I laughed and cried (mostly cried) it really was a credit to the theatre…

It’s so great to see a competition winner enjoying their evening with us…and you could be next! Our new Stagecast is now live with your chance to win a VIP night for four at this year’s star-studded panto, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs including transport in a limousine courtesy of VIP Limousines. Tune in below for you chance to win…
