Hippodrome Panto star Lee Mead and Eastenders’ Michelle Collins bring hit family musical back to Birmingham.
Casting has been announced for the new Music & Lyrics and West Yorkshire Playhouse production of the much-loved Sherman Brothers musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which flies into Birmingham Hippodrome from 7-18 September 2016.
Returning to our theatre following his upcoming panto run as the title character in Aladdin, Lee Mead (Casualty, Legally Blonde, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) will play Caractacus Potts, with Michelle Collins (EastEnders, Coronation Street) starring as Baroness Bomburst, and Andy Hockley (The Phantom Of The Opera) as Grandpa Potts.The rest of the casting for the Birmingham leg of the UK tour will be announced soon.
The show will feature sensational sets, stunning special effects and, of course, the memorable score by the Sherman Brothers, which includes such classics as Truly Scrumptious, Toot Sweets, Hushabye Mountain and the Oscar-nominated title song Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
